Artist Statement
Everything I create is an attempt to understand or frame some aspect of the nature of the human experience. From social constructs and elements of every-day life, to the questions of why and how we exist at all, there are endless pieces that comprise the human condition, and how we experience our brief opportunity at life. I am inspired by the things that drive us, that motivate us, the things we must do because we are human and the things we choose to do. I am captivated by what angers us, what saddens us, and the things that bring us joy. I am driven to explore the impact of social structure and government, history, and how we interact with each other. I am boggled by the ideas of consciousness, the mind and the soul, and that inexplicable voice you’re hearing in your head as you read this. All these things, and infinite, boundless things more, are what define our lives, our experiences, and our opportunity to exist. It is these infinite intangibilities that I am constantly moving toward, to try and gain some understanding of humanity’s existence, and of my own.
